CARE

Keep your Custom Dual-Flame Torch Lighter firing reliably — refilling, adjusting, and care tips.

Meet the Custom Dual-Flame Torch Lighter

The Aurora Lites Custom Dual-Flame Torch Lighter is a refillable butane torch with two flame outlets for a broader, hotter ignition — ideal for lighting Aurora Lites firestarters in wind and damp. Like any precision tool, it rewards a little routine care with years of reliable service.

Refilling with Butane

Refill only with high-quality filtered butane. Before refilling, bleed any remaining gas by pressing the refill valve with a small screwdriver until no hiss is heard. Turn the lighter upside down, insert the butane can nozzle into the refill valve, and press down firmly in short bursts for 5–10 seconds. Wait a minute for the gas to settle and reach room temperature before lighting.

Adjusting the Flame

Most torch lighters have a flame adjustment screw near the base, often under the fuel window. Turn it slightly toward the + for a taller flame or toward the − for a shorter one. Start small and test — a flame that is too tall wastes fuel and can be unsafe. For lighting Aurora Lites, a medium flame is plenty; the firestarter does the rest.

Cleaning and Daily Care

Keep the ignition port and flame outlets clear of lint and debris — a quick blast of compressed air or a soft brush now and then keeps the spark strong. If the lighter sparks but will not light, the port may be clogged or the fuel low. Avoid dropping the lighter on hard surfaces, which can crack the internal tank or knock the ignition out of alignment.

Storage and Travel

Store the lighter away from direct sunlight and heat. Butane expands in heat, so never leave a filled lighter in a hot car. For air travel, empty the lighter and check current airline regulations — most prohibit torch lighters in carry-on or checked bags. Keep the lighter out of reach of children, and always confirm it is fully closed before pocketing it.
